Enoteca Italiana is without a doubt one of the most successful Italian restaurants in Bangkok. This peaceful, quaint restaurant just a stone’s throw from downtown Sukhumvit Road will delight guests with its classic Italian charm and modern culinary magic.
Naples-native Chef Marco Pacetta helms the kitchen after successful stints with Guy Savoy in Paris and Gordon Ramsey in London. The genial owner Nicole told us he prefers to bring in chefs from Europe as they are more in touch with the latest trends in gastronomy. We are inclined to agree that if you are looking for inventive Italian cuisine in Bangkok then no one does it better than Enoteca.
Homely and humble, the dining room at Enoteca is the complete opposite of the new generation of minimalist restaura nts in Bangkok and reminds us more of traditional Italian restaurant with slight modern touches. A collection of vintage advertising signs decorate the walls, garlic and onion garlands hang from the ceiling while the brick counter is covered with Italian cheeses, smoked hams and salamis. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, perfect for a romantic dinner for two or with a small group of close friends.
Gastronomic treats range from surprising flavours, textures and plating, either a la carte or as a four-, five- or seven-course set menu, which come in two forms – Classic or Surprising. Considering the background of Chef Marco, we would advise the Surprising set menu (take note, portions are filling and the full seven courses are enough to fill the biggest of appetites).
