A wonderful article by Melissa Richter from Bangkok Best Dining.
“Enoteca is an old school favourite that never goes out of style. If you crave refined modern Italian cuisine that speaks directly to your soul, then you won’t be disappointed with Enoteca”
Here’s a snippet from the Menu and Evaluation section of the article.
Menu: The menu at Enoteca changes seasonally and you can dine a la carte or try one of their 4 to 7-course degustation menus. On our visit we opted for the “Surprise” menu which highlights the best of the seasonal options as well as classic favourites. We began with the Smoked Sea Scallop & Crunchy Vegetables which is an intriguing dish that stimulates all the senses and is served with an all inspiring dramatic flair. For wine go strictly Italian, and both the Abbazia Kerner, 2010; and the Broglia Gavi di Gavi DOCG, 2015 are nice options that go well with the menu. Another favorite dish is the rich and luscious Onion Cooked in Salt & Filled w/ Braised Quails. This is a stunningly simple dish with a complex depth of flavor that lives in your memory long after the meal is over. For pasta, try their traditional Spaghetti Verrigini in Tomato Water & Burrata Cheese. Despite the fact that the pasta is extremely al dente to the point of being crunchy at times, it is a masterful creation that features homemade pasta and a delicate sauce that is second to none. For entrees we suggest the brilliantly executed seasonal Baby Lamb w/ Roasted Vegetables which is astounding. The flavoursome and tender lamb has no gamey aroma and tastes very similar to veal. It exceeds expectations as it literally melts in your mouth and every element on the plate complements each other. For dessert don’t miss their innovative version of Tiramisu, which is playfully presented with a tableside service of steaming hot coffee being poured over a giant chocolate ball and a mound of frozen cream.
Evaluation: Enoteca exudes tranquillity and has built a loyal following with locals as well as tourists. Perhaps it’s the personalized attention lavished on each guest by owner Nicola Bonazza, or maybe it’s the quaint charm of the understated European décor. No matter how you approach it, Enoteca is an engaging restaurant that encompasses everything you love about Italian food, but with a unique and innovative twist that always keeps you guessing while never failing to satisfy.
Once again here at Enoteca Italiana, we are proud to be Bangkok’s best Italian Restaurant and we strive to continue indulging you with extraordinary gourmet sensations.
